Woodland Pattern is pleased to host Playback Milwaukee Theatre Company as they present My Milwaukee Story.

Playback Theatre is a type of improvisational theatre in which stories from audience members are heard and enacted on the spot with words, movement, and music. In My Milwaukee Story, audience members will be asked to recall their experiences of life in Milwaukee, and to consider the following:

What IS IT about Milwaukee? Why is the dialogue about either being on the verge of leaving Milwaukee or a declaration of staunch loyalty or a pledge to do or die by Milwaukee?

Tell about an experience that fosters your love, or hate, or both of Milwaukee…

The personal stories shared by audience members will then be re-presented as theatrical improvisations. Through the artistic medium of improv theatre, the performance will bring to life these stories and allow us to hear, appreciate, and celebrate each other’s life experiences. The members of Playback Milwaukee strive to create a space for us to empathize with each other, to recognize that we are not alone in what we have experienced, and to make meaningful connections among all who are present.

Bring a story, and bring a friend!

Playback Milwaukee Theatre is an improvisational theatre company. Playback Milwaukee produces performances and group processes in collaboration with community organizations and schools to create spaces to remember, share, and celebrate our personal and collective histories. Playback Milwaukee conducts residencies and ongoing group process facilitation for organizations, institutions, and schools. We also host “Playshops” open to the public to come learn Playback!

Your memories come to life before your eyes through improv word, movement, music... and magic!
