In preparation for the two-time Grammy winning production of Elmer Gantry, the Florentine Opera is partnering with Woodland Pattern Book Center and UW-Milwaukee Department of Film for a FREE screening of the 1960’s film ELMER GANTRY on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00PM in the Florentine Opera Center. The Academy Award winning film, starring Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones, directed by Richard Brooks, tells the story of a fast-talking traveling salesman with a charming, loquacious manner who convinces a sincere evangelist that he can be an effective preacher for her cause.

Post screening talk-back with Gregory Jay, UWM Professor of English. Refreshments will be provided.
