SET 1—John McCoy is an improvisational musician based in the Milwaukee area. For this performance, John will be performing a solo modular set. Live patching the synth will show how his sound builds up throughout the piece.
SET 2—Nicholas Elert presents Primitive Velocity, a collection of new music for synthesizers and analog video. Developed over the past year through improvisational live performances, Primitive Velocity has been honed into two pieces that invoke the relentless minimalism of early electronic music with the long-form dynamics of post-rock, accompanied by feedback experiments with obsolete video technology.
