Special Event: Milwaukee Youth Poet Laureate Finals *IN PERSON*

Promotional image, the background is a peach and bright lavender fade, at the top left is the MYPL logo and in the center, text in bright yellow, all caps, that reads "FINALS!" At the bottom right, in black line drawing, a person holding a book in one hand with the other hand active as if reading out loud, to the right of this are line drawings of a microphone, a pencil, a Composition notebook, and decorative shapes.

The Milwaukee Youth Poet Laureate Finals will take place in person at the Central Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library, Centennial Hall's Loos Room (733 N. 8th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233).

Join us as some of Milwaukee’s finest young poets vie to become our city’s first Youth Poet Laureate! Emceed by Dasha Kelly Hamilton, the afternoon program will feature performances by our top three finalists, along with an appearance by former Youth Poets Laureate Michaela Lacy (Prince George County, MD, 2020).

Judges for this year’s competition include Milwaukee Poet Laureate Mario " the Poet" Willis, Milwaukee Film / Cine Sin Fronteras Program Coordinator Adilene Quezada, La Revo Books Co-Founder Barbara Cerda, and poet and PhD candidate in Creative Writing at UW–Milwaukee Angela Voras-Hills.
