Youth Workshop: MQWP Summer Meet-ups *IN PERSON*

Join the Milwaukee Queer Writing Project at our summer art+writing meet-up dates! The MQWP summer series is designed to give outlets for expression and community to young LGBTQ+ people in the greater Milwaukee area. There will be lots of opportunities for writing and art workshops, as well as chances to work with queer writers and artists. These meet-up sessions are ideal for those looking for inspiration/prompts, feedback on work-in-progress, and/or space to work in community with other LGBTQ+ artists. Sessions are open to LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-18, regardless of experience. All are welcome!

In the first summer meet-up, we'll work on our own SELF-PORTRAITS, in writing, visuals, music, or any other media that feel right! Taking a look at how other queer and trans artists have expressed themselves, we'll explore how poetry and art can help us write our own stories and our place in the world. What do we see when we look in the mirror? How do we want to see ourselves?

Some supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
