Mikey Murry, also known as Mikey Cody Apollo, is a Black queer writer, filmmaker, educator, and feminist killjoy from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Most of their work explores themes such as race, gender, sex, and religion. Mikey is the author of the self-published collection of poetry Black Girls, Silence, and Other Things Made of Gold, which has been used in classrooms, workshops, and book clubs across the United States. Mikey currently works for UBUNTU Research & Evaluation, a team of unapologetic Black women, femmes, and non-binary folk committed to disrupting systemic oppression through strategic evaluation, facilitation, and education. Mikey resides with her partner and favorite photographer, Mahdi Atif, and their two fur babies, Mercury and Ruby.
Tobias Wray’s debut collection, No Doubt I Will Return a Different Man, won the 2020 Lighthouse Poetry Series Competition (CSU Poetry Center, 2021). Poems and other writing have found homes in Blackbird, Bellingham Review, Hunger Mountain, Meridian, and The Georgia Review. Poems will also appear in The Queer Nature Anthology (Autumn House Press, 2022) and The Queer Movement Anthology of Literatures (Seagull Books, 2022). Having spent the last few years directing the University of Idaho’s Creative Writing Programs, he’s recently relocated to Los Angeles.
